Cundall provided multi-disciplinary services at Monklands Hospital. Work was carried out in a live environment, with careful consideration given to phasing to maintain the full existing theatre capacity. Each service had to develop new and innovative ways to work to enable the hospital to operate without intrusion.

The project required the complete replacement of all infrastructure to support the theatres including the ventilation systems, medical gases, uninterruptible power supplies, isolated power supplies, lighting, domestic water services etc. Air handling units were connected to the necessary infrastructure to allow for continual operation as each theatre or clinical space was refurbished.

Graham Thomson, Associate Director commented, "A key requirement was keeping six of the seven theatres up-and-running at any one time. We created a roof top scheme with minimal intrusion to avoid interrupting the hospitals operations and theatres."
