This project comprised the fit-out and acoustic design of the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development (EBRD)'s new headquarters in London. Located across Levels 12-24 of 5 Bank Street, comprising c. 370,000ft2, the building was designed to support the new ways of working that emerged during the Covid-19 pandemic. The resulting design enables staff to easily connect to virtual meeting platforms, collaborate and work flexibly across the building.

The acoustics design was led by the EBRD’s specific needs, including areas which required high levels of sound insulation/speech privacy and excellent room acoustics performance including simultaneous interpretation booths, auditorium, TV studio and editing suite, executive offices, and the boardroom. Acoustics performance criteria were based on extensive consultation with the client and design team. These were aligned to BREEAM UK Refurbishment, Fit-out 2014 and WELL v2 Building Standard, to carefully target researched metrics on building sustainability and occupant health & wellbeing.

This project displays our core values of creativity, excellence, collaboration and integrity through benchmark testing of existing office to define performance criteria, producing a world-class project with acoustics at the forefront of the final design. By working with a large design team, we were able to successfully deliver a complex project on time and satisfying our client's needs.
