As a journalist, I find there is a practical alignment between engineering and the craft I have been practising for over two decades. In my work within the construction, engineering, sustainability and design sectors, I have seen the power of storytelling to help achieve positive change in industry approaches. We have now progressed from seeing sustainability as an optional extra to recognising it as fundamental to good business.

Journalism by its nature is a collaborative process that relies on authenticity, honesty, trust and deep listening to the insights, thoughts and perspectives of others. There is also a satisfying element of constantly learning from the incredible people I am fortunate to work with.
Creativity
Engineering is a creative, scientific discipline that builds on established facts and clear principles to invent solutions for the needs of humanity. At this critical point in our collective history, finding compelling and positive ways to tell our people’s stories is an exciting and motivating mission.
