Peter Hazzard

I have over 30 years’ experience in the industry and have worked in many sectors. Education has been my primary focus throughout my career, and I am now the schools sector lead for Cundall. I have successfully delivered over 40 school projects in the last 10 years, for clients including the Department for Education and Education Funding Agency alongside others. I’m passionate about working with new clients and giving my team the tools to arrive at innovative net zero carbon design solutions.

As I’ve progressed through my career, my experience has expanded from project delivery to overarching design strategy and philosophy. Most recently, I have been involved directly with the Department for Education as part of their prototype school design, GenZero, which is aimed at delivering net zero carbon schools for the next generation of school buildings in England.

Working alongside my team and using tools like BIM, we can offer clients innovative and cost-effective solutions to design challenges. While working with the Welsh Government as Technical Advisor for their Mutual Investment Model 21st Century school building programme, we collaborated with the wider design team to contribute to the output specification aimed at low energy and sustainable school design.
