I work in BIM at Cundall and am the Technical BIM Lead. I studied mechanical engineering but quickly knew that my interest lay in the visual designs and problem solving offered in the CAD environment. I left my studies early and found a job in London as a trainee technician - BIM was starting to emerge in the design and construction landscape and it was the best decision I ever made! I completed an HND in Building Services Engineering and I am currently studying for an MSc Construction Project Management with BIM.
Collaboration
Collaboration is a fundamental principle of BIM, without it, the key advantages of BIM workflows and efficiencies are lost. I love being part of a team and having the opportunity to share knowledge and learn from a broad range of people in different specialties. Building strong relationships with our peers makes delivering complex projects more enjoyable and helps break down old-fashioned thinking around multi-discipline co-operation.
Creativity
BIM and construction is evolving at a rapid pace. In order for us to keep up and deliver quality models and excellent designs, we have to use our creativity and tap into the hive mind of our diverse global teams.
