Following an early career in chemical consultancy, I found my area of focus shifted naturally towards environmental projects, particularly monitoring airborne pollutants. I supplemented my developing interest in environmental sciences with a mid-career MSc, and moved to a regulatory authority where I specialised in air quality. I followed this with a return to consultancy and joined Cundall because its passion for sustainability and developing great indoor environments matched my own, providing the perfect opportunity for further career development.
Collaboration
One of the best things about working in a multi-disciplinary consultancy is the great teamwork and collaboration between teams. For air quality, this would typically involve our planning, transportation, sustainability, acoustics and building services teams. Using this approach, we can evaluate problems from multiple perspectives and provide great advice when solving difficult problems for clients. Nothing beats the buzz of seeing a new development taking shape when you’ve played a key part in helping to secure planning permission!
Engineering excellence
Our air quality aims for excellence across everything we do. We provide added value for our clients by building good working relationships with regulatory authorities, and this proactive approach means we can often negotiate reductions in scope and project costs. We strive to provide innovative solutions for discharging planning conditions, and keep things running smoothly from project planning to delivery.
