Dr Olli Jones

I have spent the past 15 years of my academic and professional career researching sustainability across architecture, engineering and construction. During this time, I have operated as an advisor for the private and public sector. I have sat on councils, government working groups, and steering groups including the Construction Leadership Council, the Design Council and Historic England. I sit on the board for Constructing Excellence North East chairing the regional Climate Group and nationally on the board of the UK Business Council for Sustainable Development. My expertise lies in developing and delivering strategies and policies focused on decarbonising and transforming the built environment.

I am proud to be named as one of the construction sectors top 500 influencers and one of the UK’s top 100 sustainable design visionaries. I have contributed to shaping progressive sustainability policies internationally. I continue to champion health equity and have been an active ambassador for healthy cities for VELUX and the Royal Danish Embassy. I strive to make the complex simple and speak regularly at international conferences as well as co-hosting the FutureX podcast, an exciting partnership between Cundall and FutureBuild.

To bring about the systemic change needed, we need to lean into innovation, embrace challenges and learn from other sectors. I am privileged to be part of a world leading international network of sustainability thought leaders who are pushing boundaries globally to realise a more sustainable future. I continue to work closely with universities, national innovation accelerators and sustainability start-up clusters around the world because this is where tomorrow’s solutions lie. Additionally, I work a lot with young people and help shape education programmes.
