Students of AMOS Bursary left inspired after visiting London office

UK and Europe 25 八月 2023

On Thursday 17th August, Cundall’s Electrical Associate, Rob Marney welcomed the students of AMOS bursary to our London office to discuss alternative routes to engineering.

Rob has a passion for speaking to young people about future options and is an active member of the bursary. As a mentor, he offers students advice, encourages them to follow their dreams, and helps them reach their full potential.

AMOS Bursary ensure talented people of African and Caribbean descent have the opportunity to excel in education and beyond. Their key mission is to promote excellence and positively shape the futures of Britain’s talented young people of African and Caribbean heritage, creating a more diverse workforce.

Ellie Relf, Jack Cannings, Saranya Sasindran, Yasser Yaya-Oye and Jude Brennan joined Rob to host the presentation. They each shared their routes into engineering and what a ‘day in the life’ looks like for them, as well as discussing the opportunities Cundall can provide and pathways into the industry. Most importantly, they highlighted that the path to engineering is not always the same.

Commenting on the event, Rob Marney said, “It was great to discuss my journey with the students of AMOS Bursary and it was fantastic to see the students so engaged and eager to learn about future career paths.”

One of the students of AMOS Bursary, commented,

“We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cundall and particularly liked meeting the staff, learning about the various roles of engineers within the company and came away truly excited about the various career pathways open to us on our journey to becoming engineers.”

Charmaine Odusina, Head of Programmes at AMOS Bursary, added, “I really appreciated the time and effort of the staff at Cundall who offered our students an amazing opportunity to meet them at their office in a beautiful part of the city, and inspire them to pursue roles in the engineering sector.”
