Retrofitting the built environment for a net zero carbon future - World Green Building Week 2022

UK and Europe 22 八月 2022

We will be hosting events across our 21 offices for World Green Building Week (WGBW) taking place this year from the 12th – 16th of September. The annual campaign by the World Green Building Council empowers all to “put people back at the heart of the built environment”, reflected by their theme this year #BuildingforEveryone.

The built environment is responsible for 40% of global carbon emissions, and those of us in the industry have a huge responsibility to help solve the problem. In the race to hitting our Zero Carbon Design 2030 pledge, altering existing buildings has proven to be far more vital than constructing new ones. Therefore, our global events this year will explore retrofitting strategies in the emphasis on achieving our climate goals.

We continue to use WGBW as an event platform that not only educates the industry, but also to collect the views and approaches of industry leaders from across the globe. Cutting emissions from the built environment is an urgent step towards meeting our climate goals, and it cannot be achieved without international collaboration.

Each event will be based around a small number of guests participating in an in-person panel discussion with audiences either online, in-person, or a hybrid of both. Learn more about the events happening below in your region:
