He has demonstrated this through several, outstanding projects throughout his time with us. This showcases his ability to apply sustainable principles to projects though his enthusiasm for innovation and impeccable communication skills.
This award reinforces how valuable our graduates are for the business and the future of the built environment
Jerryl commented, “I am grateful for the opportunity and the people around me that supported me. I am looking forward to continuing the work that I am doing for decarbonising the workplace sector and subsequently the built environment.”
The judges of the BCO NextGen Awards said “We were impressed by Jerryl’s contribution to pursuing BCO Net Zero transition goals in minimising whole life and operational carbon on office refurbishment projects. His dedication to innovation is evident in the development of customised tools which apply quantitative methods to sustainability principles - such as an algorithm for optimising photovoltaic systems in offices.
Furthermore, as an active member of BCO North and honorary secretary for CIBSE North West, Jerryl has shown a commendable commitment to driving decarbonization efforts in the commercial sector. Through collaboration with industry leaders and the planning strategy team at Manchester City Council, he has assessed the progress of the region's commercial offices in meeting UKGBC targets and identified opportunities to accelerate the path towards net-zero emissions. These efforts are set to influence the future standards of commercial properties and contribute to Manchester's local plan for sustainability. His passion for sustainability and drive for innovation mark him as stand out candidate for this year’s Graduate of the Year Award"
Jerryl is the second Cundall graduate to have this award after Tim Newcombe in 2021.
