Ulster Acute Hospital Services Block had a very successful night at the Building Better Healthcare Awards on 2 November, winning two trophies. The awards recognise the exemplary work and design of healthcare projects, medical devices and technology sectors.

The first win was for Best Healthcare Development (UK – value > £10m). This was a tough category, with three highly commended entries, but Ulster’s innovative design and its impact on the greater Belfast area made it a deserved winner.

The second win was under the Grand Prix Design Awards where Avanti Architects’ design for this fantastic project was recognised. The judges deemed that their design had the most positive impact on the future of healthcare delivery.
