We are excited to welcome Andrew Somerville as the newest Partner and science and technology sector lead.
Andrew joins Cundall with nearly three decades of experience in advanced engineering design and has contributed his expertise to science and technology projects worldwide. He has worked with clients from leading institutions including the Technology Facilities Council, Francis Crick Institute, Cancer Research UK and the Medical Research Council.
Andrew will focus on developing Cundall’s existing team of science and technology specialists through knowledge sharing and development opportunities.
Reflecting on his new mission, Andrew said:
“Designing science and technology buildings is what I am deeply passionate about, and leading the sector within Cundall will be rewarding. The great thing about science and technology projects is that they tend to be exciting and interesting to work on, whilst helping people and wider society – projects we can be proud to get involved with.”
“I am looking forward to working at Cundall for so many reasons, but primarily because it is leading the industry with a great portfolio of projects, working with amazing clients. The business’ multi-disciplinary approach ensures our science and technology clients have a holistic service offering as well.”
Carole O’Neil, Managing Partner at Cundall said:
“We are delighted to welcome Andrew to Cundall and our leadership team. He has a great reputation in the industry for his expertise in designing science and technology buildings, and his ability to deliver what clients need.”
“As the UK aspires to become a global leader in research and development, we foresee significant growth in demand for facilities to support this. Having someone like Andrew to help further develop Cundall’s offering in this will be great for Cundall and our clients.”
Andrew joins Cundall after seven years at Hoare Lea as the Director responsible for science and research buildings, having enjoyed several years with Arup beforehand.
Cundall operates as a UK-registered Limited Liability Partnership wholly owned by the Partners – all of whom have a hands-on role in the management of the business and the projects they are commissioned to deliver.
