We are honoured to have been awarded ‘Engineering Consultant of the Year’ for the second year in a row at the Building Awards 2022, one of the most prestigious awards events for the UK construction industry.
Hosted by comedian Jimmy Carr, the ceremony took place at Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Mayfair on 1 November with over 1,100 people in attendance from across the construction industry.
Cundall was recognised for its work over the last 12 months, particularly our dedication to building a sustainable world. Our entry highlighted our commitment to achieving zero carbon design on all projects by 2030, as well as exemplar net zero projects like GenZero, Telephone House and 3 Chamberlain Square.
We also talked about how proud we were to have Sarah Linnell represent us at COP26 when she co-chaired the Construction Leadership Council’s panel discussion. The Sustainnovations exhibition in Edinburgh, the launch of our new website and podcast, and Cundall’s affinity networks were also key elements of our entry.
Commenting on the win, Carole O’Neil, global Managing Partner, said:
“To be recognised once is a great honour, but to be awarded the title two years in a row is beyond anything we could have imagined. It’s a huge testament to our people and the great work they do with clients across the globe.
“As an organisation, doing things differently has never been something we have shied away from, and we recognise the key role we have to play in helping the industry achieve net zero. We are committed to improving the lives of our staff and clients, as well as our local communities, and I look forward to seeing all that great work continue in 2023.”
The 2022 Building Awards also proved to be a big night for Muse Developments who we nominated to win ‘Construction Client of the Year’.
Alan McBride, Project Director at Muse Developments, said:
“We are hugely proud to have been named Building Awards’ Construction Client of the Year. Our vision for a sustainable future closely echoes the one held by Cundall, and that is why we have been working together for over a decade on projects including the Salford Crescent Redevelopment, and New Bailey, which includes Eden, one of the most environmentally friendly office buildings in the UK.
“We are all committed to creating exemplar sustainable developments that maximise social benefits and enhance the environment for future generations, and we look forward to continuing to work together in the years to come.”
Congratulations to everyone at Muse and at Cundall for your hard work, passion and dedication to making the built environment a better, more sustainable industry over the past 12 months.
