Comprising four interconnected buildings, the Perth Children’s Hospital provides world-class treatment and care to patients 15 years and under. The facilities include 298 in-patient beds, 12 multi-use operating theatres, retail, entertainment areas for patients and a helicopter pad for emergencies. Evidence-based design principles were incorporated to ensure an exceptional level of healthcare.

Cundall’s building services team assisted with the commissioning of all the services for the facility to ensure the hospital operates at the designed levels of efficiency. The commissioning scope included the base building mechanical, electrical, fire protection and hydraulic engineering services in addition to specialist applications for medical gases, pneumatic tubes, steam and an Automated Guided Vehicle system.

"Perth Children’s Hospital is one of the most technically complex buildings in Australia. The 120,000m2 building comprises four interconnected blocks, world-class healthcare systems, and bespoke, intelligent facades and building services systems. We are proud to have contributed so positively to a building that is contributing so much to children’s health in Western Australia." Oliver Grimaldi, Associate.
