  • In preparation for the Ashes 2013 and to cement their status in the international calendar, Durham County Cricket Club’s ground has been redeveloped. 

ENEKO at One Aldwych

London, United Kingdom

  • ENEKO at One Aldwych is a new restaurant in Covent Garden, located in the One Aldwych Hotel, a Grade II listed building. The hotel and the restaurant were previously refurbished in the 1990s by Cundall, and many of the original 1907 building features were covered up, adhering to the style of the time.

Energy Coast UTC, Lillyhall

Workington, United Kingdom

  • Cundall has been appointed by Eric Wright Construction to deliver full engineering design services for the £5m Energy Coast University Technical College in Workington, Cumbria.

Engineering Science Building - AUS Campus

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

  • The new Engineering Science Building includes classrooms, laboratories, offices, meeting rooms and an auditorium. The building is long and narrow across two floors. Due to the long length of the building, the structure was sub-divided into three segments via expansion joints.

Excelsior Academy

Newcastle, United Kingdom

  • Excelsior Academy is a new-build institution, located in the west end of Newcastle upon Tyne. This project represents one of the largest academy projects undertaken in the UK to date. It is designed to accommodate four existing schools for 11-16-year-olds within one academy, each with a separate entrance.

Facebook Luleå

Luleå, Sweden

  • Cundall was awarded the engineering and design contract for the second phase of Facebook’s new European energy efficient data centre campus in Luleå, Sweden, close to the Arctic Circle. The data centre, Facebook’s first outside of the United States, includes the fit-out of two mega data halls (Halls C and D in building 1). Facebook looked at several sites across Europe, and picked Luleå for the availability of cheaper 'green' electricity and its cold climate, which supports abundant 'free cooling'. The move will see Facebook become faster for users across Europe.

First Street Manchester Residential

SALFORD, United Kingdom

  • Patrizia has secured a planning application for a £90m residential scheme on First Street site in Manchester, marking the company’s maiden investment in the UK Private Rental Sector (‘PRS’).

Floating Theatre - AUS Student Center Building

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

  • The refurbishment of the student centre included the addition of an innovative ‘floating’ theatre. Cundall provided a practical and efficient structural and geotechnical engineering solutions which helped the project to be delivered within the construction budget and programme whilst minimising the effect on day-to-day operations of the University.

Gateshead Leisure Centre

Gateshead, United Kingdom

  • One of three refurbishment leisure centre projects for Gateshead Council under the Building and Active Future Programme, Gateshead Leisure Centre has been developed from Shipcote Baths constructed in 1944 , the dry sports leisure centre extension added in the 1980’s, resulting in a centre which was disjointed and did not flow. The client wanted a centre that was easy to navigate and welcoming for new visitors,the leisure centre and swimming pool have undergone a full refurbishment and re-planning of internal accommodation to provide a more integrated centre.
