Grey Towers Village

Middlesbrough, United Kingdom

  • Grey Towers is a high quality residential development located at Nunthorpe involving the construction of 295 3-6 bed homes within a 42.5 hectare site with construction phased over a 4-5 year period. The plot sizes and public open space are designed to create a village centre and the dwellings will be designed to define and enclose attractive streets and lanes.

Heworth Leisure Centre

Gateshead, United Kingdom

  • Part of Gateshead Council’s Building an Active Future Programme, this new build leisure centre has been constructed adjacent to an existing school and provides both school and community use.  The new complex boasts a Flowrider, the North East's first indoor surfing facility and only the third currently in the UK.

Houghton-le-Spring Primary Care Centre

Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom

  • This new-build primary care centre is a combination of health and social care facilities linked to an existing sports and leisure facility. SOTW’s aspiration was for this project to become an exemplary site for low carbon construction technologies. Houghton Primary Care Centre was the first healthcare project to achieve a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating.

King's Stables Road

Edinburgh, United Kingdom

  • This mixed-use development by Peveril and Campus DM in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle is planned to drive regeneration through the interaction of commercial and arts related activities around the carefully designed courtyard. New routes link the residential units, hotel and student accommodation with the surrounding streets and lanes. 

Lee Valley White Water Centre

Hertfordshire, United Kingdom

  • This award-winning artificial white water canoe course is a major multi-disciplinary engineering project. The centre hosted the Canoe Slalom competition during the London 2012 Summer Olympics. The site accommodated some 12,000 spectators in the temporary stands. The Lee Valley White Water centre was designed with sustainability in mind and is expected to become a major leisure attraction in Hertfordshire.

Lower Steenberg’s Yard

Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom

  • Lower Steenbergs Yard, Ouseburn, is the second phase of Carillion-Igloo’s development of the Lower Ouseburn Valley. This is part of a development agreement with Newcastle City Council and the Homes and Communities Agency.

Manor Walks

Cramlington, United Kingdom

  • The first phase of the development comprises the provision of a new nine screen multiplex cinema together with six restaurant outlets. The project included significant ground works to deal with mine workings for which Cundall provided geotechnical advice.

MOD Larkhill

Salisbury, United Kingdom

  • Located in Salisbury Plain Training Area, the MOD site is the British Army’s largest national training area, which comes with its own complexities due to its proximity to the Stonehenge World Heritage site. As part of the Ministry of Defence Army Basing programme, the Larkhill site was identified to relocate Army units from Germany and provide 540 new homes by 2020.

Music School, King’s College School Wimbledon

London, United Kingdom

  • King's College School, Wimbledon: New Music School is exemplary in its achievement of client vision, innovative architecture and engineering design. The project objective was to create a state-of-the-art music facility for a leading academic school in the UK. The new building is arranged over three floors, comprising music rooms, a stunning concert hall (which can accommodate an audience of 200 alongside a 70-piece orchestra), classroom spaces, the new porters' lodge and staff administration/office spaces.

Notre Dame Catholic College

Liverpool, United Kingdom

  • Willmott Dixon have completed the construction of the Notre Dame Catholic College in Liverpool for Liverpool City Council (LCC).
