Houghton-le-Spring Primary Care Centre

SOTW’s aspiration was for this project to become an exemplary site for low carbon construction technologies. Houghton Primary Care Centre was the first healthcare project to achieve a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating.

  • The Hulton Square development comprises a compact layout of 250 apartments in Greater Manchester, including the associated services, highways and a park.

intu Eldon Square Redevelopment

  • Cundall was appointed on a multi-disciplinary basis for the redevelopment of intu Eldon Square shopping centre. This redevelopment ensures this vision is upheld by creating a vibrant retail focal point for the 25 million shoppers it attracts.

intu Eldon Square Scheme 4

  • The phased redevelopment of intu Eldon Square Scheme 4 has been over the last 2 years, and has transformed this major shopping centre from a dated 1970’s development to new and vibrant malls enhancing the experience of shoppers and retailers.

Kings Academy

Middlesbrough, United Kingdom

  • The new academy in South Middlesbrough comprises approximately 12,000m2 of teaching and ancillary space. It was constructed in the grounds of an existing school, which remained operational throughout the contract period.

King's Stables Road

  • This mixed-use development by Peveril and Campus DM in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle is planned to drive regeneration through the interaction of commercial and arts related activities around the carefully designed courtyard. New routes link the residential units, hotel and student accommodation with the surrounding streets and lanes. 

Lee Valley White Water Centre

Hertfordshire, United Kingdom

  • This award-winning artificial white water canoe course is a major multi-disciplinary engineering project. The centre hosted the Canoe Slalom competition during the London 2012 Summer Olympics. The site accommodated some 12,000 spectators in the temporary stands. The Lee Valley White Water centre was designed with sustainability in mind and is expected to become a major leisure attraction in Hertfordshire.

Lower Steenberg’s Yard

Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom

  • Lower Steenbergs Yard, Ouseburn, is the second phase of Carillion-Igloo’s development of the Lower Ouseburn Valley. This is part of a development agreement with Newcastle City Council and the Homes and Communities Agency.

Manchester City Council BSF

  • Our involvement with the Manchester Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme comprised the building of 10 new secondary schools with a total construction value of circa £158m.
