Roxana Rakhshani

My passion for lighting design started to shape during my bachelor’s degree in architecture. We had a module in lighting design, but it wasn’t enough for me. I’ve been working in the field of architecture for nearly ten years starting with smaller architectural studios and ending in Zaha Hadid Architect. It was at that time that my passion for lighting and technology led me to my master’s degree in Architecture and Digital Media, where I used lighting and coding to create an interactive architectural design.

It is my strongest belief that as humans, we’re all fascinated by light and its power; hence as a lighting designer, it is my duty to create the best atmosphere for other people to experience the beauty of light and lighting. I feel responsible to use all my knowledge and passion to design a unique project while protecting our planet.

At Cundall, we’re not only collaborating with our global team, but we’re also liaising with international manufacturers to have an individual approach to creating a distinctive design based on the client and project needs. The lighting team works closely with local councils, ecologists, architects, interior designers, electrical and mechanical, and civil engineers to address all the aspects of lighting within a project.
