Patrick McFarlane

At school I didn’t know what I wanted to study at University. A summer placement in Cundall’s Manchester office cemented my desire to study civil engineering. In my time at Cundall’s Edinburgh office, from starting as a Graduate, the team around me has grown. This has given new opportunities to progress to leading the discipline on large projects around Europe which helped me gain the experience needed for achieving my chartership with the ICE.

While a chain might only be as strong as its weakest link, I firmly believe that a close team can be greater than the sum of its individual parts. I take pride in being part of a diverse team across different disciplines and offices that can really punch above our weight and deliver excellence.

Each project presents an opportunity, to learn and to improve on previous experience and to create the best possible solutions. I use the learnings from my own previous projects and regular technical reviews with others to further my own and my team’s knowledge.
