Michael Florance

I entered the world of civil engineering by chance, starting as a trainee and quickly realised that this was where I wanted to take my career. As well holding a Masters in Transport and Engineering, I’m a Chartered Engineer with the ICE and a Fellow of the IHE and CIHT. I joined Cundall in 2018 and enjoy working on fantastic and varied projects, whilst growing the highways engineering offer and skills within the team and business.

Great teams make projects tick and the people at Cundall not only get that but are willing to listen and respond to feedback from everyone, whether you’re on day one of your career or here after 35 years.

Some of the best learning you can get is from the things that didn’t succeed the first time. It’s easy to look back on the good, but what makes us different is our ability and willingness to learn from it all. I first understood this important lesson during a structural engineering module at university and it has stuck with me ever since.
