Hannah Murphy

During my time at university studying interior design, I completed a module on lighting and technology. I then began to understand how lighting is key in creating ambiance and depth,which is what began my path to becoming a lighting designer. After a few years working at Cundall I wanted to progress my knowledge of lighting further and enrolled at UCL,to study Light and Lighting MSc. I completed the course over two years whilst still working and graduated with a Distinction.

Creativity is at the heart of lighting design. It is enveloped within our passion and emotion into producing the best quality lighting design for people and spaces. I am very lucky to be working in an environment where I can thrive creatively and design spaces that have a positive impact on people.

Within the lighting team, everyone has a variety of strengths and opinions. Collaboration within the team allows us to brainstorm together and each provide different viewpoints to ultimately achieve an enhanced lighting design.
