Tim Newcombe, Graduate Building Services Engineer at Cundall in Birmingham, has been awarded British Council for Offices (BCO) Graduate of the Year.
Since joining us in 2019, Tim has gone above and beyond in his role. He has demonstrated technical knowledge by creating a sketch tool which is now being used across the practice to streamline projects. Whilst working on Three Chamberlain Square, a landmark office development in Birmingham, he has collaborated with the wider team to propose innovative and sustainable design solutions. Tim has also shown a commitment to professional development through the organisation of a UK-wide CPD programme within the company.
Tim commented, “I am so honoured to have been recognised by the BCO NextGen as the Graduate of the Year. It has been a thrilling two years with Cundall, and I look forward to continuing to deliver outstanding projects whilst helping to contribute to the progression of the wider industry.”
Mike Gosling, Project Partner on Three Chamberlain Square commented, “Since joining Cundall Tim has embraced his role with enthusiasm. We are all impressed with his technical ability, passion for delivering great designs and approach to communicating with clients and collaborators. Tim has an exciting future with Cundall, and we look forward to seeing his career flourish.”
The BCO NextGen awards bring together the UK’s top designers, developers, architects and occupiers to celebrate the success of young professionals within the industry. The NextGen programme offers collaboration, knowledge sharing and mentoring opportunities for those under 35, the future generation of property leaders.
Earlier this year at the BCO National Awards 2020, the Brunel Building won the Commercial Workplace award. We provided building services, geotechnical engineering, sustainability and vertical transportation and worked with Derwent on the site for nearly 15 years.
