Tim Newcombe, Senior Engineer at Cundall and BCO Graduate of the Year 2021 is a finalist for the BCO NextGen Ideas Project 2022.
Introduced this year, the Ideas Project is a reimagined iteration of the BCO’s previous ‘Design Competition’. It’s an idea generating competition, where the parameters are for the participants to decide. The competition challenges entrants to present a bold, innovative and creative concept about the future of workplace.
Tim’s idea fits into the ‘Addressing the Climate Emergency’ focus area and involves enabling office occupants to reduce the energy they use on a day-to-day basis by informing them of their current usage and providing advice on how to reduce it.
Tim commented “I’m so very proud to have been shortlisted for the BCO NextGen Idea Project! Over the next few months, I’ll be developing my idea and how to present it with training from Ginger Leadership Communications and a senior mentor from the British Council for Offices.
A massive thank you everyone at Cundall and in the British Council for Offices for all of your support over the first few years in my career.”
Tim was announced as a finalist in June 2022 and will have the opportunity to present his idea to the BCO committee and wider workplace industry later in the year. He will pitch at the Ideas Project Event attended by key leaders from across the industry and have the opportunity to further develop his idea with state-of-the-art public speaking training and supporting workshops.
Congratulations to Tim on this amazing achievement and we’re looking forward to seeing his pitch at the event later this year.
