Donore Road 3D concrete printing Demonstration Building highly commended at Irish Concrete Society Awards

UK and Europe 02 May 2024

Cundall is proud to announce that the Donore Road 3D concrete printing (3DCP) Demonstration Building has been highly commended in the Building category at the 41st Annual Irish Concrete Society Awards. The project is a result of a successful collaboration between our structural engineering team from the Dublin office along with Harcourt Technologies Ireland, Harcourt Architects and Roadstone. Their concept pioneers a new method of 3D construction printing directly on site, paving the way for new methods of using concrete.

The Irish Concrete Society Awards are a celebration of excellence in design and construction in concrete. The award ceremony acknowledges construction achievements in which concrete, in any form, contributes significantly to the built environment. As part of the main awards, the building category recognises the impact concrete had on any aspect of building, civil engineering, architecture, art or landscaping.

Gerard Doyle
, Associate Director, commented, “To have our ground-breaking engineering solution recognised amongst such a calibre of nominations is a fantastic achievement for our structure’s team in the Dublin office. It recognises our ability to be innovative and is a fantastic example of the work we are doing as part of our commitment to reduce carbon in the built environment. Working with Harcourt Technologies Ireland, Harcourt Architects and Roadstone on this project has been a delight to say the very least. We look forward to implementing safe, sustainable buildings within the emerging 3DCP industry."
