Cundall shortlisted for three awards in Ireland's Engineering Excellence Awards

UK and Europe 10 September 2024

Cundall has been shortlisted for three Engineering Excellence Awards that recognise the most innovative individuals and companies driving excellence in Ireland's engineering sector.

Ester Martín Herrero has been shortlisted for Women in Engineering Award, Riverside Two has made the cut for Mechanical Engineering Project of the Year, and our innovative engineering solution of 3D Concrete Printing has been shortlisted in the Innovation in Engineering category.

Ester shared her thoughts on being nominated: "I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award! I know there are so many great advocates within the engineering industry so to be recognised by such a distinguished judging panel is a real highlight for me personally."

William Dolan and David Feighery who both worked on Riverside Two shared their thoughts: Will commented: "Riverside Two was an enjoyable project to work on so seeing it nominated for Mechanical Engineering Project of the Year is a real testament to the building services team in Dublin. The state-of-the-art office building now offers a healthy, wellbeing focused indoor environment which ties in brilliantly with our pledge to achieving net zero carbon on all our projects by 2030." David added: "From a sustainability point of view, Riverside Two is an excellent project showcasing the Dublin office's capabilities for delivering sustainable projects within the Irish built environment. The building has eliminated fossil fuels in a fully operational building highlighting our abilities as sustainable engineering consultants."

Gerard Doyle expressed his delight with Dublin's structural team implementing 3D Concrete Printing into the Irish construction market: "With many engineering firms challenging the status quo in the Irish built environment, and rightly so, this nomination highlights the capabilities we at Cundall have for thinking outside the box by pioneering a new method of 3D construction printing directly on site."

The award ceremony will take place in the Crown Plaza Hotel in Santry on 23 October.
