As a long-standing patron of CRASH, the UK's construction industry charity, Cundall has donated its services to help renovate the Rennie Grove Hospice facility in Hertfordshire.
The hospice, which provides care and support for patients diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses, underwent extensive renovations of their facilities in 2020 and needed to further review the overall energy usage of their building services. Cundall provided mechanical, electrical, and public health design services for the project. We undertook additional work to replace their boilers and ensure the heating system and hot/cold water distribution throughout the building is efficient whilst still maintaining the central plant.
Carl Oughton, Associate Director at Cundall said, “We really enjoyed working with CRASH. The redeveloped building provides a warm, friendly, and relaxing setting for patients and their families and this was truly rewarding to see. It’s important to us to give back to the community. We have supported CRASH for many years and are proud to be part of the project.”
Founded in 1996, CRASH is the UK construction industry’s charity that helps homelessness and hospice organisations with their construction projects, creating places that care for people when they’re at their most vulnerable.
Commenting on the project, Niamh McCann, Project Manager at CRASH said, “With the rising cost of living, hospices are faced with soaring running costs and an immense amount of pressure. A huge thank you to Corporate Patron Cundall, who proposed strategies for new mechanical, electrical, and public health services which will help in reducing the overall energy usage of the hospice’s building.
“At CRASH, our work has never been so important, and we are eternally thankful to Corporate Patrons like Cundall, who are making such a difference to the homelessness charities and hospices we work with.”
In the past year, Cundall has raised funds on various occasions to support CRASH. The business also makes an annual donation to the charity as well as donating it’s time on project work like Rennie Grove Hospice. We look forward to continuing to support CRASH in the years to come.
