Cundall’s Civil & Structural Engineering team pride ourselves on our exemplary track record of designing and leading innovative and sustainable built environment projects.

The Role

This is a good opportunity for an experienced Structural RTO to represent Cundall onsite for one of Singapore projects. This will be a 9-months contract based role commencing in April 2025 with an opportunity for extension if required by project. Location is based in the west of Singapore. The main responsibilities are:

  • To coordinate and to supervise the whole construction works of the Contractor on site and to agree on the detailed programme of work.
  • To check and ensure that all necessary instructions have been given to the Contractor and authorization from the Head Office has been obtained.
  • To check and ensure that all materials are ordered and delivered to the site by the Contractor in good time with all necessary permits obtained.
  • To ensure that the requirements of the specifications with regards to materials and workmanship are complied with by the Contractor.
  • To ensure that all setting out work are properly carried out by the Contractor and to keep all survey records in systematic and legible manner.
  • To keep a daily site record on the progress of the work and prepare site inspection reports.
  • To issue such further instructions and clarifications of details as are deemed necessary.
  • To check all works (rebars, formworks, steelworks etc) and to ensure they comply with drawings, specifications and good engineering practice.
  • To ensure that relevant tests on materials are satisfactorily carried out and recorded prior to adoption and that all routine tests are done and documented during normal construction works.
  • To attend site meetings.
  • To assist the QS in the valuation of works done for the purpose of valuation of the progress of works and for the purpose of progress payment if required.
  • To act as a channel for all claims and disputes and to provide the facts which are relevant.
  • To familiarize himself with and where necessary bring to the notice of the Contractor, the need for inspections, certification etc. by the Client Department, municipal council, local or state or other authorities having jurisdiction over the project.
  • To foster efficient organisation and good relations on the job and suggest and report on any matter likely to assist in achieving these. The RTO shall also observe and report on the general co-ordination, standard and progress of the works.
  • After the completion of structural works by the Contractor, RTO shall verify that all constructed works are in accordance with approved authority drawings prior to authority inspections, and ensure that the finished works are free from defects and are functioning to its intended specifications.

The Skills

Able to commit to the project commencing in April 2025.

With minimum 6 years of site experience in the supervision of construction works (including both steelworks and reinforced concrete works).

Must be an IES/ACES accredited Registered Resident Technical Officer.

Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
