Cundall’s PR and Communications team play a critical role across the global business. Part of the wider Business Development and Marketing team, the team works across the 26 offices, 22 services and 17 sectors to ensure Cundall continues to be recognised as a world leading expert in innovative and sustainable design engineering. This is made possible by the team’s open and collaborative approach to dialogue and creative thinking and our shared ambition to collectively, achieve great things.

In order to help us achieve our ongoing global ambitions, we require an organised, collaborative, and energetic PR and Communications Manager to join our PR and Communications team in the UK.

The Role

The role is a 12-month maternity cover contract and can be based in any of our UK offices, including Newcastle, Edinburgh, London, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester.

The PR and Communications Manager will be responsible for driving the PR and communication strategy for the business, with a particular focus on the UK market.

The role requires a self-driven, hands-on person that can work independently and make full use of the resources in the PR team. This will be an experienced PR and Communications Manager who is organised and can create and deliver strong public relations activity to deadlines. An example of tasks would include: Driving key PR and communications activity in line with the PR and engagement strategy, working closely with the Partners, Associates and sector leads in the UK to raise the profile of the business in the local and global market.

You will also manage relationships with key industry press, write high quality press releases and thought leadership on behalf of business leaders, delegate work appropriately and manage our PR Assistant, and have a good understanding of PR ethics.

The Skills

Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field, with proven experience in a PR and communications role, you have also proven yourself in professional services and/or a consultancy environment and gained experience of working strategically and coordinating closely with multiple stakeholders. 

You have demonstrated your ability to think and work strategically and to co-ordinate and supervise the activities of others to achieve objectives. Crucially, you have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, a proven track-record of influencing senior stakeholders in an assertive but diplomatic manner. 

Experience in the built environment sector would be advantageous.

This position will offer hybrid working.
