Cundall works with a wide range of government clients in the UK and globally, with particular expertise in public estate, including law and order and defence facilities. In the UK, we also have vast experience of working on projects for the Office of Government and Commerce and on local authority frameworks.

Our range of multi-disciplinary services allow us to work together to provide practical solutions which provide tangible business benefits.

A key area for government clients is sustainable development whether this be meeting new legislation or retrofitting existing stock.  The performance of buildings and energy is increasingly important.  In 2010 the Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC-EES) was introduced in the UK as a mandatory scheme aimed at improving energy efficiency and cutting the greenhouse gas emissions of large public and private sector organisations. Cundall's sustainability experts can guide you through this legislation, optimising energy and carbon savings in relation to each individual government department five-year carbon budget target. We also have in house BREEAM and Ska assessors, for further information please visit our environmental ratings page.

Law and order
Cundall has a wealth of project experience, from the roll-out of a large number of small police stations, and the design of Magistrates’ Courts, to national framework agreements. We also have experience of working on high-security buildings and security requirements for high-profile projects in the private sector.

We understand the complexities of individual projects and our designs take into account access and safety issues, which include recognition systems, digital monitoring, CCTV, scanners and X-raying systems.

Cundall has a deep understanding of what is required to design buildings that meet the requirement s of the defence sector, both in the UK and globally. We understand the military ethos and the ever-increasing aspirations for sustainable development, and have experience in designing a vast array of defence building types informed by modern methods of construction, facilities management requirements and value for money. We offer strategic sustainability advice to the team when considering major masterplan developments.
