The opening of the Joint Services Centre will provide a heart for the community of Whitley Bay and a catalyst for the wider regeneration of the seaside resort. It will bring together a range of services delivered by North Tyneside Council and North Tyneside PCT under one roof.
The varied facilities include;
An ambitious energy target of 30GJ/100m³ has necessitated the design team to deliver an energy efficient design including optimising natural lighting and provide a number of renewable energy technologies. The project is aiming to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
Cundall worked with Aukett Fitzroy Robinson on the refurbishment of 50 Queen Anne’s Gate, now 102 Petty France, the former Home Office building which was originally constructed in 1977.
This project has 2,856m² of office space, accommodates 140 staff members who were formerly spread around Alice Springs in five separate offices. It was one of the first building in Alice Springs to achieve Green Star rating, achieving a 4 Star Green Star - Office Design v2.
In 2012, Leichhardt Council became the second council in NSW to achieve carbon neutrality. Cundall were appointed to produce an Energy Management Plan to be incorporated into the Leichhardt Council Climate Change Strategy.
