Cundall was appointed to act for Development Securities to provide building services engineering on this high profile redevelopment of a part of the West Quay area of Southampton. The building achieved a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating.
This 13,011m² development, which overlooks West Quay and the harbour, was pre-let by Carnival Cruise lines. It is the largest office development project in Southampton. The 4-storey office complex includes a central atrium that is used as a café/break space by the tenant, and has a lower ground floor, comprising car parking and some plant space. An ETFE roof was utilised for the atrium, to save weight and costs.
The building links into a local district heating and cooling network, which is provided by Utilicom, saving a substantial amount of plant space at roof and basement level.
Cundall was appointed to provide the building services design for Loxley House, an award-winning 23,000m² office and call centre complex.
Cobalt Park is the largest office park in the UK. When completed it will have more than 2.4 million ft² (223,000m²) of commercial space. The park has attracted big names in the business world, so far over 12,000 people are employed on site.
The restoration and redevelopment of a Victorian factory building, damaged by fire in the mid 1980’s and left derelict for 20 years. Part of the wider regeneration of the Ouseburn area of Newcastle, the building now provides modern facilities for the creative industry.
