The project is a 5-star resort that includes a hotel, villas and apartments within a 50-hectare landscaped estate located on the beach front on Boa Vista Island, Cape Verde. There will be over 300 villas and apartments, with restaurants, bars, beachfront sports facilities and a championship-standard tennis academy. All will be designed to high sustainability standards.

Particular design considerations include:

  • Extremely low average rainfall, but occasionally high
  • Phased construction strategy
  • Aesthetically acceptable sea defences
  • Poor island infrastructure necessitating on-site energy generation
  • Design must accommodate local construction skills and material supply
