Cundall was engaged by mechanical and electrical subcontractor Lorne Stewart to carry out the building services design for the refurbishment and expansion of a 6-storey laboratory building for the University of Wolverhampton.

The state-of-the-art teaching and research facility provides a clean, flexible learning and working space for staff and students. The building contains several teaching laboratories which include laminar flow cabinets, micro-biological safety cabinets and fume cupboards with a CAT-2 environment. Not only was the design fully modelled in Revit (BIM), but the systems were fully mapped to provide comprehensive asset management facilities within interactive O&M manuals. This brought the benefits of the BIM model’s functionality to the facilities management team.
