£25m redevelopment of a Grade II listed iconic Manchester’s building which was transformed into one of UK’s best independent dining facilities. The £13m Roomzzz Aparthotel, part of the major redevelopment, included 114 brand new boutique hotel bedrooms with bespoke design.
Cundall’s building services team was appointed for the major transformation project which was part of a £25m leisure redevelopment programme by Aviva Investors and Queensberry Real Estate to include over 18 new independent restaurants and four retained restaurants.
The hotel is a key part of the redevelopment of the Manchester’s primary dining destination. The hotel has its entrance fronting Exchange Square with guest accommodation over the second, third, fourth and fifth floors.
Roomzzz Corn Exchange Aparthotel featured a beautiful bare brick walls, merged with Roomzzz’s “New Generation” concept with bold bespoke interior designs, resulting in a combination ranging from ultra-sleek 21m² apartments to super luxury palatial penthouses.
The work comprised the installation of services to each unit for future connection and extension by the incoming tenants. To ensure the project was economically viable, existing plant and services, where possible, were retained and re-used.
