Originally a newspaper print works, One Aldwych occupies a prime location at the junction of Aldwych and the Strand in Central London. Cundall's innovative approach and intricate engineering techniques contributed to creating a jewel among London’s premier hotels.
Initial studies indicated that conventional solutions to services distribution would only allow for the provision of 85 bedrooms. However, to be a viable investment, the client’s business plan required 110 bedrooms, some of which needed to be combined to form suites.
Cundall achieved significant space savings by utilising a vacuum waste disposal system, which eliminated the need for large bathroom ducts and space-consuming horizontal pipe collection. This system has the additional advantage of using a minimal amount of water for flushing, creating further savings in pipework, storage and consumption costs.
The basement-level swimming pool floats in the sprinkler system’s water storage tank and, although totally quiet above water, there is piped classical music that can be heard underwater.
This 5-star hotel and spa resort is located in a dramatic hill-top adjacent to the sea in the Port of Soller, in the North side of Mallorca Island in Spain. The building will be operated by the world-known Middle East hotel operators Jumeirah.
The Lingfield Park redevelopment involved the regeneration of the operational core of the racecourse. The outmoded buildings were replaced with an integrated leisure building, incorporating a 120-bed four star Marriott hotel, replacement viewing terraces and boxes, golf clubhouse, and leisure club.
Already an exceptional setting for any type of occasion, from intimate gatherings to business meetings to lavish celebration, The Mere Golf & Country Club, Cheshire has transformed itself into one of the finest luxury resort hotels in England.
