Cundall was appointed to work alongside AEW Architects to develop the new £15m headquarters for Wrexham based company Moneypenny.
The development, located on a ten-acres of greenfield land, comprises of a three-storeys, 90,000m² office, 450 space car park and landscaped grounds with an orchard, wetlands and meadows. The offices provide a combination of high density occupation offices and a large central atrium, which creates break out space, meeting areas and restaurant facilities. The building has a tree house meeting room, village pub, bleacher seating and quirky interior design features which make this a unique project and stand-out office development.
The project benefits from a mixed mode cooling and ventilation design to minimise energy consumption whilst increasing occupant comfort. A ground source heat pump system providing space heating to the atrium reduces the buildings carbon footprint whilst offering the client annual Renewable Heat Incentive payments for the next 20 years. Improving the building’s green credentials further are a rainwater harvesting system providing grey water for flushing toilets and roof mounted PV panels reducing the consumption of grid electricity.
Cundall disciplines involved during the design stage included building services, structural, fire engineering, specialist AV and BREEAM with the structural team novated to undertake the design on behalf of main contractor Pochin.
