Global institutional trading network operator, Liquidnet, appointed Cundall to assist in their relocation to a new office in Hong Kong. We initially carried out a technical due diligence to assist in the selection of the new location and were then appointed for the building services design of the fit-out of the new office.

The overall concept was to maximise daylight and provide transparency within the space. This was achieved primarily by using a full height glazed partitions for all the perimeter offices and completely replacing the standard, landlord, lighting and ceiling grid to provide a more ambient lighting scheme.

The curved, lit, profile was achieved with Barrisol stretched fabric and a fully dimmable series of LED strips behind. The spacing and light output of the LED strips was carefully arranged to produce highly uniform and low-energy results.

The meeting rooms have been designed to provide providing a wide range of occupancy options. These flexible spaces take advantage of daylight and have both variable air volume and fan coil systems to provide comfortable air-conditioning across the range of conditions.

Resilience of systems was integral to the fit-out of the office. Cundall evaluated the landlord systems, ensuring that they offered 24-7 cooling and generator backup in case of mains failure. These systems are utilised for the critical applications in the fit-out area.

Various parameters are picked up on the clients’ comms network to enable easy remote monitoring of conditions.
