Cundall was appointed to be a lead consultant to provide MEP, Architecture and Quantity Surveying services for the new data centre in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
Cundall also acted as the project manager to work closely with the University’s Authorised Person and Registered Structure Engineer who are responsible for the required building submissions.
The HKUST intends to build a new, smart & green data centre to meet the increasing demand on campus as the existing data centre was built and commissioned 25 years ago. While a new transformer room was built to provide the electrical power required to the new data centre, feasibility study was carried out to investigate the possibility of alterative power and cooling sources other than the campus MEP provisions.
The project involves different phases including restacking the existing live data centre to vacate the new data centre area. As the existing data centre supports all the IT facilities on the campus, it was hugely important to the client to remain operational throughout the works with zero interruptions in their IT services.
Cundall have been appointed as BEAM, LEED and sustainability consultant for the project of Science Park Phase 3, aiming to achieve one of Hong Kong’s first LEED v2009 Platinum rating and a HK BEAM Plus Platinum rating.
The Helena May Club was established in 1916 and the building retains its Edwardian grandeur and remains highly popular for residents of Hong Kong.
Cundall involved in the launch of Energy Efficient Retrofit Guide and Calculator in Hong Kong.
