The Children’s Hospital is the largest Design & Construction building project to date from the Architectural Service Department of HKSAR, when measured by contract sum. This is also the first specialist Children’s Hospital in Hong Kong.
Cundall is part of the design and build project team which has won the tender stage design competition and has been appointed to provide sustainability and BEAM consultancy services during the contract stage of the project.
The project has set ambitious sustainability targets to provide world-class healthcare facilities in the region and is targeting BEAM Plus certification. In parallel, Cundall has introduced many cutting edge technologies that will not only maximise environmental performance but also improve the patients’ experience.
The project has achieved BEAM Plus Platinum Provisional Assessment rating under BEAM Plus version 1.2, which is first hospital in Hong Kong has achieved this rating.
Cundall have been appointed as BEAM, LEED and sustainability consultant for the project of Science Park Phase 3, aiming to achieve one of Hong Kong’s first LEED v2009 Platinum rating and a HK BEAM Plus Platinum rating.
The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, which opened in 2011, is based on ‘state of the art’ ideas developed by the Hospital around a family-centred care model that puts children and their parents at the heart of the facility.
The South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) is the first project in South Australia and the first laboratory building in Australia to achieve LEED Gold certification.
