Cundall is proud to have worked with Kennedy Fitzgerald Architects on the Grangewood acute mental health unit. Cundall was the mechanical and electrical engineers for this project in conjunction with our local sub-consultants, Taylor and Feagan. We also provided sustainability consultancy.
We have helped to design a building of exemplary quality, which minimises energy consumption by optimising the envelope performance and maximising the use of natural ventilation and daylighting.
Cundall’s environmental and sustainability specialists carried out extensive building simulation to optimise comfort conditions, fabric performance and energy strategy. A biomass (wood pellet) lead boiler provides over 75% of the thermal energy (heating and hot water) for the building. Underfloor heating is provided throughout the facility. This has created an “A” rated EPC energy assessment and a NEAT “Excellent” score.
We have optimised patient and staff safety through innovative services design.
The South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) is the first project in South Australia and the first laboratory building in Australia to achieve LEED Gold certification.
Ulster Hospital is one of the major acute hospitals serving the Belfast area. The building stock was subject to a refurbishment and new build program to make it suitable for future health care provision in Northern Ireland.
Cundall's engineering consultancy services cover the entire life cycle of any building project. Clients find our ‘total solutions’ approach saves them time, money and effort.
We will add value to your project by opening our minds, exchanging ideas and thinking creatively.
