Land Securities is transforming the part derelict site at Ealing, into a leisure and cultural destination. The old Ealing Cinema site will become one of the redevelopment opportunities within Ealing Metropolitan Town Centre.

Central to the scheme will be the Picturehouse Cinema which will boast eight screens and 1,000 seats. The overall development includes up to 161 new residential apartments, which overlook a new bustling public space comprising a mix of restaurants, cafes, shops, bars. The scheme will also improve the pedestrian link between Ealing Broadway, Bond Street and Wapole Park.

The whole development will be served by a common energy centre with a heat network serving the residential and retail units; a facility will be allowed to make a future connection to the Ealing district scheme.  Other particular challenges are the routing of retail kitchen extract and cooling pipework to the roof via the residential and cinema unit, as well as diversion of existing services and new incoming services on a very restricted site.
