Cundall has been working with dwelle for the past three years to help them develop their revolutionary prefabricated eco-homes. The award winning design, known as dwelle.ing, gives buyers the chance to customise their house in terms of size, layout, energy efficiency and performance.
The dwelle.ings are designed to be prefabricated off site using natural, healthy materials with low embodied carbon. All materials are selected to have as minimal impact on the environment as possible whilst providing comfortable and healthy environments for occupants.
The standard unit is designed to be low energy with highly insulated external walls and roof, with options to add insulation and triple glazing in order to achieve Passivhaus standards. The buyer has the option to choose from a range of low and zero carbon heating technologies in order to reduce their running costs and overall carbon footprint.
The standard arrangement has been designed to go significantly beyond Building Regulations’ minimum standards and is designed to comply with the planning requirements of any local authority in the country. The Passivhaus arrangement is designed to be able to achieve a zero carbon status and Lifetime Homes Standards.
