An exclusive 55,000m2 boutique hotel and villa development located on a disconnected island off the Dubai coastline. It is directly adjacent to The Palm Jumeirah. Zabeel Properties's objective was to develop a sustainable resort that offered luxury and privacy for its guests. The scheme was developed to a level of sustainability equivalent to USGBC LEED GOLD standard.
The scheme incorporated a sewage treatment plant that treated and re-cycled 100% of waste water. In addition, treated sewage effluent (TSE) water was available from the The Palm Jumeirah and the combination of both provided 100% of irrigation water, WC flushing water and air-conditioning process water.
A full study of renewable energy opportunities was undertaken, including a detailed wind study and feasibility analysis for the inclusion of a wind turbine.
In order to accelerate the construction progress, the utility infrastructure was developed in pre-fabricated pre-cast service modules that were constructed off-site and assembled into an underground utility corridor. This also reduced pollution associated with construction activities and minimised waste.
As the potential new venue for the Dubai film festival, entertainment is at the heart of this project. The lively mix of theatre, cinemas, restaurants and bars sits in an urban canyon that brings people in from the street.
A completely disconnected exclusive island resort development with a GFA of 71,000m2, comprising of 42 key Boutique Hotel, spa, 51 water villas, 31 land villas and associated service buildings.
This luxury residential scheme on a reclaimed beachfront peninsula will feature a tiered island design concept. The project includes 44 exclusive villas, two restaurants, a spa and health club. The scheme is situated close to the iconic Burj Al Arab.
