A new branded three-star hotel has been developed for Dubai to penetrate a new market segment of the tourism sector that is expected to grow over the next ten years.

Cundall has helped PCFC design their first hotel in this series as well as develop design guidelines for this new brand to ensure a consistent look and feel throughout all the planned hotels.

The first hotel which has nine floors and 277-bedrooms, marks a first of its kind for Dubai due to the unique bedroom size and style. The rooms were designed to an area of 18m2, while also flexibly arranged to create family rooms with adjoining bedrooms.

A level of technology was incorporated into the rooms to provide an enhanced customer experience providing customers with an app that allows customers to book rooms, purchase food and adjust bedroom environmental conditions. Numerous interfaces also allow customers to connect their personal devices with the bedroom TV screen.

Occupant comfort was considered throughout the design with thermal modelling ensuring optimum comfort conditions in the bedrooms and acoustic modelling ensuring the acoustic conditions of both the rooms and the lobby would be acceptable to hotel guests. The building design is compliant with Trakhees Green Building Requirements.
