The global headquarters of Lendlease, 30 The Bond in Sydney, is the first central business district building in Australia to have received a '5 Star' NABERS rating.
DB RREEF, owner and operator of 30 The Bond, signed Australia’s first '5 Star' commitment agreement in 2003 with the New South Wales Department of Energy, Utilities and Sustainability (DEUS). With the completion of the monitoring period and assessment by DEUS, the accredited rating was awarded. In 2006, 30 The Bond’s official greenhouse result was more than 20% better than the '5 Star' benchmark and about 30% better than the next best certified building in Sydney at the time.
The building contains Australia’s first widespread application of chilled beam technology, to assist in energy reduction. Cundall, as a pioneer of chilled beam technology in the UK, was engaged as mechanical peer reviewers to refine the design of the passive chilled beam system.
The elliptical building completed in July 2011 at 1 Bligh Street in Sydney’s central business district is set to create a new benchmark in Australia for sustainable high-rise.
South Australia (SA) Water House became the largest building in Australia to achieve a 6 Star Green Star Office Design rating representing world leadership. It includes an underfloor air cooling/heating system, a large glass veil to the west façade and trigeneration.
This 9,000m² speculative office building is the first building in Australia to achieve a 6 Star As-Built rating. The building has passive chilled beams throughout, with 100% outside air for improved indoor environment quality.
