Triple award win at Regional RIBA Awards Share this article

Cundall has secured an exciting triple win at RIBA London Regional Awards! King’s College Music School Wimbledon, 7 Southwick Mews and Here East were all awarded RIBA regional awards.

Here East with Hawkins\Brown
Cundall provided MEP design and consulting services to the prestigious Here East development. The project entailed the redevelopment of the former Media Campus at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Cundall was selected for their knowledge of the site, the Broadcasting Centre in particular and for their data centre development knowledge.

King’s College Music School with Hopkins Architects
The King’s College School Music school is exemplary in its achievement of client vision, innovative architecture and design where Cundall provided civil, structural and geotechnical engineering. The project objective was to create a state-of-the-art music facility for a leading academic school in the UK. The new building is arranged over three floors, comprising music rooms, a stunning concert hall (which can accommodate an audience of 200 alongside a 70-piece orchestra), classroom spaces, the new porters' lodge and staff administration/office spaces.

7 Southwick Mews with Edward Williams Architects
This new office for a sustainable agriculture investment company is in a quiet mews at the heart of Paddington in London. The existing shell of external brick walls has been refurbished with a new internal steel and timber frame structure. A modern industrial aesthetic is the result of adapting the fabric of the existing building, and selecting materials to suit the ethos of the client; a private fund investing in sustainable agriculture using timber as a natural, carbon-negative, renewable resource.

Barney Jordan, Partner commented "It’s very gratifying that our hard work and close collaboration with the architects on these amazing projects is recognised by these prestigious RIBA awards – we at Cundall are immensely proud of our contribution and look forward to continuing our successful collaboration with Hopkins Architects, Hawkins\Brown and Edward Williams Architects."

The Regional Award winners will be now considered for a highly-coveted RIBA National Award in recognition of their architectural excellence, the results of which will be announced in June.
