Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley Development, known as ‘The Mailings’ has been shortlisted for the Development of the Year and Outstanding Placemaking Award in the Sunday Times British Homes Awards 2017.

The awards recognise the talent, effort and innovation of those working across the residential property sector. They celebrate the quality of the homes and communities being created in the UK.

The Mailings is a development of 59 homes and two small retail units on brownfield land in Newcastle’s Byker Ward. Cundall was the Planning Consultant for the project and worked with Ash Sakula Architects, Carillion-Igloo, Gentoo Tolent, and others.

Ian Cansfield, Director of Planning commented “We were delighted to be shortlisted for another award for the Mailings– we have always known that this has been an exciting and innovative project, but it’s fantastic that our efforts continue to be recognised. These shortlisting’s for “development of the year” and “placemaking” emphasise not only the quality of the project but its wider role within the community. We’re looking forward to the awards ceremony on the 21st September.”
