The Hong Kong office has moved Share this article

After almost 6 years in our current office, Cundall's Hong Kong office is relocating to a bigger, greener space to accommodate the continuous growth in the region.

To facilitate the growing team and to showcase the possibilities of a first-class office fit-out, the Hong Kong office is moving into the 7th Floor at The Hennessy, an iconic building in the heart of Wanchai.

The new office will be an expression of Cundall’s ethos that great design should inspire a creative and collaborative workspace. The office is designed to incorporate key features from both WELL and LEED standards.

An upcycle approach is incorporated within our sustainable building design. A conscious decision was made to reuse existing materials rather than buying new alternatives. Our reception wall utilises reclaimed wood from an old Hong Kong fishing trawler and locally sourced material ties in with our commitment to sustainability and supports our One Planet Company endorsement.

Our in-house lighting team has demonstrated reusing existing light fitting does not comprise quality, they have created a lighting scheme which meets the WELL and LEED standard reusing the existing fluorescent light fixtures. By placing luminaires where they are needed, rather than flooding the floor with unnecessary illumination, we have attained a lighting power density which is 25% better than the ASHRAE 90.1-2010 standards as well as attaining maximum points against the interior lighting power credit under LEED.

The combination of high quality design, innovative engineering, reuse and recycling existing materials, has enabled us to demonstrate that clever sustainable design can be achieved in a cost-effective manner.

Andrew Marks, Director, commented, “This is an exciting time for Cundall Hong Kong and for our Asia offices. The move will enable us to deliver more projects across Asia and support the business globally. The space demonstrates our creativity and love of great sustainable design, which highlights the importance of implementing health and wellbeing into workplace designs within Asia.”

As of 4th September, our Hong Kong address will be 7th Floor, The Hennessy, 256 Hennessy Road, Wanchai. We will be celebrating our office relocation on Thursdays 28th September. For further information please contact Lucia Donlon – l.donlon@cundall.com
