New addition to the landmark First Street scheme - Number 8 First Street

Planning permission has been granted by Manchester City Council for a new build 7-storey mixed-use development for the landmark First Street scheme in Manchester city centre.
Known as “Number 8 First Street” the building will be located on the 20-acre First Street site. The BREEAM Excellent 220,000 sq ft ‘landmark’ building, designed by Fletcher Priest Architects will sit on the gateway into Manchester along Meadlock Street near to Mancunian Way, and will incorporate 32,000 sq ft retail units on the ground floor and 187,600 sq ft of office space across the six floors above. Construction on the site is due to commence in October 2015 with completion summer 2017.
Cundall is providing building services engineering and BREEAM for the brand new Grade A office building. Cundall was previously involved on the four star Innside Hotel by Melia, two retail buildings and the 700-space multi-storey Q-Park Carpark recently completed on the same site.
