Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (HKCH) was awarded Merit at the Hong Kong Green Building Awards 2016 in the New Buildings Project Under Construction and/or Design - Institutional Building category.
Developed by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) and the Professional Green Building Council (PGBC), the Green Building Awards aim to recognise those building-related projects which demonstrate outstanding performance in sustainability, with this year’s awards theme being “Driving for Green Lifestyle - Excellence in Sustainable Built Environment”. There were an overwhelming number of responses for nomination of which 70 projects were shortlisted for final judging.
Hong Kong Children’s Hospital is the first Hospital in Hong Kong to achieve BEAM Platinum rating. As the BEAM and Sustainability Consultant, Cundall has played a significant role in the design stage by introducing many cutting edge technologies that will not only maximise environmental performance but also improve the patient’s experience.
